Interested parties must personally apply to the Dromolaxia-Meneou Municipality producing all necessary original documents required in order to get married:

Interested parties must personally apply to the Dromolaxia-Meneou Municipality providing all necessary original documents required in order to get married.


Citizens of Cyprus

Affidavit of Marital Status from the Family Court (single/ divorced/ widowed)

The original Divorce Certificate, in case of divorce (stamped by the Registrar of the Family Court that it is final and irrevocable after 42 days from the date of it's issuance)

Death Certificate of the deceased spouse, in case of widowhood

Birth Certificate
-
Identity Card
The above-mentioned documents must be presented to the Civil Weddings Registrar, the Migration Department in Nicosia.
Certificate from the Marriage Registrar (Department of Population and Immigration Archive of the Ministry of Interior, 1457 Heilonos Street, Nicosia), date of issue should not be more than two months.

Certificate of Marital Status from an Official Authority (Ministry of the Interior / City Hall) of their country, the date of issue should not exceed six months and to be translated in English and certified with an Apostille stamp in case the country concerned has signed the Hague Convention (1961)

For foreigners living in Cyprus for over 6 months, it is required to present the under-oath statement from the Family Court

Birth Certificate (Must be translated into Greek or English by an Official Authority of the country of origin of the interested parties and certified by the Press and Information Office or translated by the Press and Information Office in Cyprus.)

The above-mentioned documents must be presented to the Civil Weddings Registrar, the Migration Department in Nicosia.

At the Migration Department, you cannot book an appointment. Working hours are from 9:00 - 12:00, and the confirmation you require will be sent to you via mail within a period of one week to one month approximately.

As soon as you obtain the Non-marriage certificate from the Ministry, you can come to us and arrange the wedding date.
PROCEDURES FOR CIVIL MARRIAGE
The interested parties may follow the Regular procedure (Notice of Marriage) or may apply for a Special License procedure.
By the regular procedure (Notice of Marriage) a couple can be solemnized after 15 days since the day of application, and not later than after 3 months. (More)

CERTIFIED COPIES
The couples who require certified true copies of the marriage certificate may apply to the Office of Civil Marriages at the Dromolaxia-Meneou Municipality. (More)

CEREMONY
The wedding ceremony is very simple. It lasts only 10 – 15 minutes and after its completion, the couple receives at once the original certificate, signed by the Marriage Officer.
